there be就近原则

there be A and B就近原则，只考虑A的单复数，

比如：

There is a knife and fork on the desk.

There are a light bulb and a screwdriver on the desk.

这两句都是在书上找的，请老师讲下为何第二个不需要is呢？

一般there存在句的主谓一导致用就近原则，但不排除有的人坚持语法一致原则，当主语为and并列的主语时，谓语用复数。还有人觉得there是形式主语，尽管后接的名词为复数，也用is。比如：There is two books on the desk. 不过多数人觉得这是非正式的使用方法。现在最常见的还是就近原则。另外，a knife and fork在西式快餐中被视为一套餐具，作主语时本来就多用单数谓语。网友自己写句子根据就近原则就是了。
