DONT WASH THEM TOO OFTEN.

As bras are underwear many of us make the mistake of thinking they need washing every day.

However, as Good Housekeeping explains, doing so can cause them to lose their elasticity1 - and it recommends instead washing them every three to four wears.

In addition it recommends washing them in a pillow case to protect the washing machine and avoid tumble drying.

DONT KEEP THEM IN THE DRAWER

Surprisingly Good Housekeeping say that it is a mistake to store bras in a drawer, as many of us do.

The website explains that it is important to let them air so that sweat doesnt fester causing odour or irritation2.

It is recommended that instead you hang your bra, but not from the strap3 as this can cause stretching, instead hand them from the centre.

BUY THE RIGHT SIZE

Many of us assume that we are wearing the correct size but unfortunately that isnt the case.

Most women avoid bra fitting after their teens, but breast shape can fluctuate due to hormones4 and weight loss/ gain so it is important to check your size.

When purchasing a bra be sure to buy one that you are only able to hook on the loosest clasp so that once it stretches you have the option of tightening5 it.
